I grew up in southeastern Michigan, just north of Detroit. I went to college at Michigan Technological University, very near the northernmost point in the state. My career took me to Salt Lake City and West Hartford Connecticut. I know a little about winter. Despite having struggled through dozens of snow storms and ice storms, I still enjoy winter, at least from around Thanksgiving to late January, when a hard winter can get kind of old.
Apparently there are others who enjoy winter, or at least aspects of it, too.
